It’s planning to issue stamp that will be dedicated to this great tournament by the initiative of World Blitz Chess Championship’s event office. Also the agreement to issue postmark and special cards has been reached.

A postage stamp is an adhesive paper evidence of pre-paying a fee for postal services. Stamps also as coins and banknotes are issue only by state. It’s great honor to be depicted on stamp. Only outstanding persons of culture, arts, politics, sports and the greatest events in humanity history can be depicted on stamp.  
World Blitz Chess Championship in Almaty could be such “stampable” event. It’s planning that World Blitz Championship stamp will be issued in 2009.
- Stamps about chess are very rare, - says Kazakhstan Philatelists’ union president Anuarbek Balakhmetov. – There were no stamps about chess issued in Kazakhstan since 1992. So, World Blitz Chess championship stamp will be truly exclusive, philatelists from all over the world will hunt for it. 
There will be conducted ceremony of postmark’s extinguishing at the Championship. Postmark with date, name and logo of the Championship will issued at November, 7 and begin its world traveling since this day.
Also exhibition of chess stamps and badges will be organized at the tournament. It will be interesting for the guests, because a lot of professional chess-players are fond of collecting stamps. For example, Anatoly Karpov. His collection of stamps is one of the best in the whole world.

IV World Blitz Chess Championship was finished by unexpected victory of grand master from Cuba Leinier Dominguez Perez, who played with 15 great blitz-players in the world. Chess-player from Cuba won 8 games and didn’t lose no one, so he took 11,5 scores.
World Blitz Champion 2007 Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukrain) took 2nd place with 11 scores. Five times champion of Russia Peter Svidler became bronze medalist with 10 scores.
08.11.08 display of multi-board chess-play of honorable guest of the Championship, 12th World Champion Anatoly Karpov with 15 chess fancies from Kazakhstan was held.  Prize-winner of VIII international Seimar Chess Tournament among children and youth Yaroslav Ryabov draw with legendary chess-player.
The opening ceremony of the IV WBCC was conducted on November, 7 at 7 PM. FIDE president Kirsan Ilumzhinov, even office’s chief, mayor of Almaty Akhmetzhan Esimov and Kazakhstan Chess federation president Margulan Seisembaev made welcoming speeches on the ceremony.
