Alexander Grischuk (31.10.1983, Moscow, Russia). He was four years old, when father taught him to play chess. His first coach was Mikhail Godvinsky, than – Maxim Blokh and Anatoly Bikhovsky. Alexander Grischuk’s chess talent was shown early. He played in different national and international tournaments for young people. He won in Russian championships for children until 10, 12, 14 and 16 years old. Grischuk became master at the age of 14 and became grand-master in 16. When he was 17, Garry Kasparov named him the most brilliant representative of “new wave” in modern chess. And noted, that Alexander would play in super tournaments very soon. It was so. Grischuk is the world blitz champion in 2006. The winner of World Chess Olympiads (2000, 2002), of team world championship (2005), the semi-finalist of FIDE world championship 2000. He is one of the greatest modern blitz-players. Participating in professional poker tournaments is among his passions.
