Vlad Tkachev (09.11.1973, France). Vlad was born and grew up in Almaty. He graduated school and made his first steps in chess here. He had won the first title of national champion in Almaty in 1991.
Vlad is perfect blitz-specialist. He is European champion of 2007, and in 2004 he won prestigious 1st traditional Moscow blitz-tournament, where Morozevich, Grischuk, Yakovenko, Rublevsky were beated by him. Tkachev thinks that 5 minutes for game of chess is too much, he is propagandist of 2 minutes limited duels! Such tournament was conducted for the first time in history in Almaty in 1995 through Vlad Tkachev and Bolat Assanov initiative. Karpov, Polgar, Tkachev and Salov played there. The tournament produced great interest, and the commentator was another participant of our championship, friend of Vlad, Murtas Kazhgaleev.
