
Sergey Rublevsky (15.10.1974, Kazan, Russia). Chess fancies from Kazakhstan could got acquainted with 15 years old Sergey in 1991, at the USSR championship among young people, took place in Almaty. Rublevsky struggled for championship title, but at least won bronze medal. Few months later Sergey shocked specialists – he won 4th place in USSR championship for adult sportsmen. Sergey Rublevsky, an unknown provincial chess-player, burst into chess-elite.
Than were series of successes, and he is among top-players since 90th. Champion of Russia (2005), winner of World Chess Olympiads (1996, 1998, 2000, 2002), team world championships (1997, 2001, 2007). Rublevsky is perfect team player, interests of team are the most important for him. The list of personal victories is impressive: Polanica-Zdrój and Frankfurt, Pojkovsky and Moscow, Bastia and St.petersburg… Rublevsky plays blitz with pleasure, as a lot of his colleagues. He is one of the favorites in Almaty’s championship.
