Gata Kamsky (02.06.1974, was born in Novokuznetsk, in Russia, now lives in USA). He is one the most outstanding and mysterious persons in modern chess world. Gata is the grandson of Gata Sabirov (stage nickname Kamsky), who was the founder of tatar drama theatre in Kazan. Gata’s father Rustam made everything for son’s success in chess. Gata began to play since third form, his trainer was well-known Vladimir Zak, who had taught Spassky and Korchnoi. Great coach called Gata “my little grand-master” and he was right. Gata won the Soviet under-20 championship twice before 1989, and at age 12, defeated veteran Grandmaster Mark Taimanov in a tournament game. He was possibly the then youngest person to defeat a grandmaster. He also earned his National Master title in that year. In 1989 he moved to the United States with his father Rustam.
Gata became one the greatest chess-players in the world, won USA championship, tournament in New Delhi, Tilburg, Las Palmas… He crushed Kramnik, Anand, Salov, Short.  In 1996, in Elista Kamsky lost world championship match to Kasparov. After that young grand-master gave up chess. He graduated from Brooklyn College in 1999. Later he attended medical school for a year. He then attended and graduated from law school at Touro Law Center in New York. But in 2004 he came back! Gata could eliminate lag from leading grand-masters and returned in chess elite! In November-December 2007, Kamsky won the Chess World Cup 2007. In the final he defeated Alexei Shirov (+1-0=3). This earned him a match against Veselin Topalov in 2008, for the right to challenge for the World Chess Championship 2009.


IV World Blitz Chess Championship was finished by unexpected victory of grand master from Cuba Leinier Dominguez Perez, who played with 15 great blitz-players in the world. Chess-player from Cuba won 8 games and didn’t lose no one, so he took 11,5 scores.
World Blitz Champion 2007 Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukrain) took 2nd place with 11 scores. Five times champion of Russia Peter Svidler became bronze medalist with 10 scores.
08.11.08 display of multi-board chess-play of honorable guest of the Championship, 12th World Champion Anatoly Karpov with 15 chess fancies from Kazakhstan was held.  Prize-winner of VIII international Seimar Chess Tournament among children and youth Yaroslav Ryabov draw with legendary chess-player.
The opening ceremony of the IV WBCC was conducted on November, 7 at 7 PM. FIDE president Kirsan Ilumzhinov, even office’s chief, mayor of Almaty Akhmetzhan Esimov and Kazakhstan Chess federation president Margulan Seisembaev made welcoming speeches on the ceremony.
